A paper by geriatrics researchers at the University of Bari in Italy appearing in the May 22 issue of Neurology, revealing that the progression of dementia may be slower in people who drink moderately than in teetotalers.

A survey of elderly Italians — 1,445 of whom had no cognitive impairment and 121 who suffered mild cognitive impairment (MCI) — found that, over 3.5 years, those with MCI who drank less than one drink a day progressed to dementia at a rate 85% slower than those who drank nothing.

Drinking more did not seem to be better than drinking nothing.   So to make sure that you do not suffer, place an order our fabulous 2005 Regnie, that fine French Beaujolais.  Simply drop us an email and we will be happy to supply!

From the brief summary above I would be inclined to say thge research or its reporting suggests a flawed project. So I decided on developing an illuminative perspective on Regnié.Last night we dined at my house. You,fred, myself and Jaypé. (the latter is a local viticulteur with somew very well known connections.) We began with salmon, cream and caviar savouries accompanied by champagne. We moved on to a prawn with a cream piquant dip. Then for the triumph! We went inside to tackle a spaghetti bolognaise which I had prepared. To accompany I chose a Morgon and your Regnie.(The Morgon was a silver medal prizewinner in Macon 2004). Jaypé was to be the willing but unknowing expert. I value his opinion.I did not declare a prefernce. Jaypé was quick to remark on the robust character of the regnie which mirrored the rich seductive qualities of the Morgon. He tasted blin as the labels were covered. We tucked in and all agreed that the Regnié was a good choice to accompany the meal.We enjoyed it.We drank it,rolled it round our mouths. Sheer mandibular pleasure complemented by the light but precise attack on our fruit taste buds which your Regnié mounted.A great wine. It also carried the moment when we tackled the rocamadour. So Roll on dementias I have a veritable arsenal to repulse the attack.Vive le Regnié
