The Garden
April 15th, 2007 by Helen
Although the sun is so hot and the cherry tree in the garden has, almost over night, burst into white blossom.
The peonys surrounding my little vegetable patch are a stunningly beautiful pink.
The vines on the other hand are still ’sleeping’ and look strangely wintry amongst the spring colours of the rest of the landscape, but they too quite soon will have a wash of pale green and the buds will begin to show a promise of what is to come.

Lovely to see you the other day, what a beautiful place you have. We made it back to the UK having left Calais on Friday afternoon in thick fog.
Yesterday and today have been gloriously sunny and hot, quite muggy really, so we’ve been digging in our wilderness of a garden, and clearing huge amounts of weeds and overgrown grass. Very therapeutic.
And we haven’t even started on the wine yet, been too busy catching up with other people and drinking beer at the Waggoners!
All the best, I’ll keep track of the blog and see what’s happening, I’ve been drooling over your food descriptions.
Love
Liz
